St. Paul’s has just crossed the milestone of 56 golden years, in the pursuit of providing quality education for our children. From a humble beginning, we have come a long way to reach the topmost rungs of the ladder, which is like a dream come true. Founded in the year 1964 by the Carmelite Nuns - Congregation of Mother of Carmel, Nirmala Province Thrissur, with a modest number of 24 students and just a handful of staff on the premises of Kuriachira which has now soared as high as 1500 students and 70 staff, the school has always competed with the most prestigious institutions of the state. Despite the many adversities, the pioneers of the institution have sacrificed a great deal, to build up this temple of learning, under the guidance of the first superior Rev. Sr. Florence C M C . It was the then provincial Superior, Rev. Sr. Mary Patience, who was at the helm of all planning and development of the present St Paul's School. Our institution’s objective is best expressed through our Vision “Young minds to be highly educated, accurately molded, morally and socially equipped to serve the Lord and the Nation with a heart full of devotion”.
Beginning with the tenure of the first H .M. Rev. Sr. Clarence followed by Rev. Sr. Perfecta, Rev. Sr. Mariella, Rev. Sr. Baylon, Rev. Sr. Vineetha, Rev. Sr. Elvira each of them contributing in their own way in making this institution one of the most prestigious institutions by the time it celebrated its silver jubilee.
Ever since Sr. Nirmala took up the reins of this institution, it has been an uphill journey maintaining the numero uno position. Her relentless efforts in this direction paid off as the school shot into the limelight with rankers at the SSLC exams, added facilities like the setting up of a Basketball court, a grand auditorium, etc. The charge was then carried forward by Sr. Sobel who showed genuine interest in involving the students in Co-Curricular activities at the deeper level with the introduction of the manuscript magazine. The school was upgraded to the Higher Secondary level during the tenure of Rev. Sr. Lizbeth, in addition to the commencing of St. Paul's Public School with Sr. Alphonse Maria as First Principal, the setting up of separate block for Plus Two Section, etc. Rev. Sr. Philo James succeeded her. Her keen interest in student's welfare, both academic and otherwise, led to the introduction of A-V Room, abacus training, upgrading sports & physical fitness through karate, yoga, etc. With Rev. Sr. Rincy taking up the reins, the school got a dramatic face-lift. With a penchant for perfection, she meticulously worked out a full-fledged plan as the school was gearing up for the Golden Jubilee celebration. The renovation of the main school building, the children's park, the christening of the different blocks, an additional school bus, a prayer room for our spiritual needs, and added facility to the A-V Room says it all.
The dawn of Golden Jubilee saw the school in the able hands of Rev. Dr. Sr. Princy Anto who had been on her toes ever since in the preparation of a busy schedule ahead. We conducted a variety of programs in connection with our Golden Jubilee celebration like Blood donation campaign, Reunion of Old Students, Suvarnaaramam - a green campus- green home project, Financial assistance of partial construction of Jubilee Homes, Music Day, Film Fest, and Food Fest with the cooperation of OSA, our Management, PTA and other well-wishers. Competitions on St.Paul’s Quiz Programme were conducted at Inter-School Level. Incorporating Co-Curricular activities hand in hand with academics in the mainstream has been the hallmark of our institution. This has ensured a regular platform to showcase the talents of our pupils. Our students zealously participate in all competitions, be it Quiz, Seminar/Debate, and have emerged winners. We regularly conduct various scholarship exams PCM, Talent search exams in Science, Maths like NTSE, MTSE, Orchard scholarship, DCL….to name a few.
Sports and physical fitness play a major role in our curriculum fostering team spirit and true sportsmanship in our pupils. Many of our students have competed in various competitions at State Level in the recent past years and have emerged winners. Our students have secured the overall Championship in sports consecutively over the years. Keeping in pace with the present trend of E-Learning, the school has been upgraded with the introduction of Audio-Visual rooms and the recent addition of digital classrooms to boost learning. We conduct Personality Development classes for students on a regular basis, to instill confidence in them and boost their morale. Orientation classes for teachers are conducted every now and then to empower them, so that they may be able to contribute their best in shaping the minds of the students and channelizing their talents for achieving wider goals.
The school is now functioning under the able hands of Sr. Anna Antony. Amidst the pandemic, she has been instrumental in carrying out the curricular and extracurricular on a digital platform.
Our progress has been backed by the Management, teachers, students, PTA, and all our well-wishers whose collective efforts have helped in the realization of St Paul’s dream. We march ahead to a new dawn with renewed vigor and hope.
